GORNAL ATHLETIC FOOTBALL CLUB
Gornal Athletic
FC is one of the largest and most progressive amateur football clubs
in the Black Country. It runs some 17 teams - from Under 7 through
to Open Age,in three different leagues.
The club itself
is a Members Club with membership open to all. The current cost of
membership is just £2.00 per annum and application forms can be obtained
from the Social Club bar. Current membership is around 350.
Gornal Athletic
is fortunate to own its own ground at Garden Walk in Lower Gornal,
although it does have to rent the changing rooms and social club from
a third party. It is currently looking to sell its existing site and
move to a purpose-built stadium within the next 12 months. Full details
of this project - codenamed Project Duncan Edwards - are shown elsewhere.
The Club will
shortly achieve the FA’s Charter Standard, and is already working
towards becoming one of the first Community Development Clubs in the
area. It also works very closely with the Birmingham County FA in
developing soccer within the Dudley area. |
